Autumn war: the novel

Posted by sammyfun Dec. 13, 2011 @ 7:29 PM EST

Hello guys, I thought I'd make a small story based off a little game called autumn war to be more specific, the unfinished autumn war 2. For those not familiar go check out Oreo47. So lets begin:

Chapter 1

I remember my father, Ingrid Trock, once telling me of my ancestor and how he held the City, turned fortress, Chicago, throughout the first months of the outbreak, it was also said that he had been given full honor of the purple heart. My father told me that the long dead president of the long dismantled USA told my Ancestor, Edgard, that the end of mankind was near and how this war against the dead would rely on everyone to do their part.
Funny how life has a sense of cruelty to it.
I do not see anything on this planet, protecting a city from the cruelties of an undead horde, we are few, numbering only in 10 thousand strong, they have numbers far beyond that, a hundred million, maybe even as high as a billion, we were refused to know the numbers, except that, as the Autumn Soldiers first foray back into combat, this was a sense of Duty and Honor.
I see neither of those, I, and probably many other of us, see only survival. For we are only a few men, faceless in the eyes of the countless others.
-Mordecai Trock, 9th Regiment Autumn Soldiers

Garian Jorell, bloody and bruised from training, limped over to his bunk and fell onto it, groaning from the workout he was forced into, the training had gotten harsher, he showed no pain to his instructor, who he forced to see as an enemy, but as soon as he got back into the Bunk Area, the pain, the fatigue, everything caught up to him like a fething kick to the gut. He closed his eyes, letting his ears hear everything, the other men talking, bed shifting underneath his weight. He was stationed on the September Rain the pride of the Autumn Soldiers battlefleet and the Flagship for the 9th Regiment. As he started to drift to sleep, he wondered where he was going and, above else, was hoping that this was not a training run and that the Autumn Soldiers will finally see some actual combat.

John Malik, Commissar of the 101st Platoon of the 9th Regiment Autumn Soldiers, stayed mainly in the command room in the center of the September Rain, displays showing the training for the soldiers, keeping them in top shape, the wapons bay, and, behind the Commissar, a radio, playing Hectic transmissions from the other units stationed in the region, and cries from the Government body asking for assisstance. Usually, an battleship traveling from one continent to another would take a little over three weeks to get to, but the Autumn Soldiers will be able to arrive in just 4 days. John sighed, the darkness that enveloped the room hid his appearance from anyone who enters and the dark helps him read the readouts on both the displays on the ship keeping an eye on the men, and the radio that is still currently receiving transmissions.

{Command Room}

Junior Commissar, Celeste Quellin, Walked in and started mocking the platoon she had just trained. "Well sir, these men won't last through a little sand in their boots. Let alone the fight we're going into." Forgetting her conduct, somewhat she said, "Sir, Junior Commissar Celeste Queelin, Reporting sir!"
Ba'al Cryspin followed the junior commissar in "i heard that, though i do agree about some of the men in fact most of them barely knew the right end of a gun" he said "whoops forgot my place" quickly straightening up doing a salute to both the junior comissar and comissar "Private Ba'al Cryspin reporting and ready for orders"
She pulled out her sword, brandishing it near a position she could cut off his genitals from. Then she taps it lightly on his left knee and said, "Indeed, Private." Smiling sensually at him, but that was her regular look. It played usually quite a mind game on her men, on whether she was mad or not.
he rose his arms up showing he was sorry and didnt want anymore trouble. he wasn't one to test superiors especially when it came to them having a
sword pointed at him. "im sorry junior comissar, ill do what it takes to make it up" he said trying his best not to make more trouble "i just dont want to cause anymore trouble"
John turned the displays off and the lights came on, he turned towards the two, "That is enough, Celeste, I can't have you killing one of my men before they get a chance to prove themselves." He said and looked at Ba'al, "Ba'al, is it? Go to weapons storage, pick a gun, and go onto the training range." He told him and then turned to Celeste, "Celeste, I'd like to talk to you when he leaves." He told her. With the lights on Celeste and Ba'al can see the stern look on his face, he is well over a seventy years old, but he might as well be 40. His hair is greying on the sides, but above that is raven black, as well as his eyes, he wears the standard Autumn Soldier uniform, but his coat is more elegant and has Silver along the button line in the center.
"sir yes sir" Ba'al yells heading out of the room and down the hall finding the storage and finds a gun and a pack and loads it in and then heads down to the range.

When Ba'al gets to the target range he readies it switching the safety switch to off and aims. Taking his time with aiming he fires off precise shots into the center of the targets, and then lowers the gun. "hmmm a little light for my taste"...

Katherine Kanowitcz stood in the fireing range, her gun aimed downrange. She hadn't noticed anyone moving into or out of the fireing range, concentrating as she was on improving her skill. The weapon felt heavy in her hands, but she had learned long ago how to brace it properly for stability. Three shots were fired off with the distinctive whine-crack sound of the weapon, followed by a few seconds of silence. "Aww, hell! Too much spread AGAIN!" she shouted to no-one in particular. If anyone had been listening, they probably knew her well enough to recognise the outbursts as something she had picked up after joining the Autum Soldiers. Muttering a curse under her breath, she flicked the gun back to single shot, and lined up again with the target...

Ba'al heard a woman to his side yell about the spread of her shots. He saw no reason in not trying to help her. He flipped the safety of his gun on and sat it on the table in front of him, and quietly walked over to her. "Need help there?" he asked her. Wanting to help a fellow comrade with markmanship.
Katherine squeezed off another shot before she heard someone speaking to her. Shot was off centre. Hell, she's off her game today! She let out a disgruntled sigh and looked up at the man who had approached her. "auto are spreading too much! Stupid gun keep dipping on me, so yeah, if you got some pointers..." Although she had been in training for two years, and proven to have a natural weapon-handling skill, she was still getting used to the regimen and accuraccy required for a first line infantry.
Ba'al stands next to her "im sure i can do my best helping you with your problem." he says thinking he might know whats wrong. Even though burst fire shots was not his preference, but he had some universal firearms advice for her "dipping down eh? If you know by how much. aim higher by about that much." he said observing the gun she was holding "if that doesnt work i could look at it for you see if there is anything i could with the gun sight or even the weight of it if its too heavy for you, but practicing single shots firing fast also works to getting used to its weight. For right now aim higher and ill help see how you do..."

{Command Room}

Celeste watches the man leave. "Sir, I wasn't going to kill him. Just relieve him of his member, if he continued to act up. " She stood putting her sword away in its sheath at her hip hanging near her legs. "What is it you wish to speak with me about, not that I would deny you John." She changes her look towards him to look more of military conduct., as she would like to trifle with her superior;
John looked at her and then turned towards the Display, which was still up and transmitting, "Do you hear that?" He asked her, indicating the transmissions, the sounds of one unit asking for reinforcments, "That is the Autumn Soldiers first combat location, the region is around the caspian sea, a place with 3 major cities, 2 of which have fallen." He explained and then looked at her, "The other platoons are already being briefed, I want you to gather our platoon and tell them only the essentials, we are going to be defending the last City from the infected, we'll conduct rapid insertion by halo jump..."

Training Hall
Garian entered the Training Hall again, still a little bruised, but not as much as earlier and went up to the Drill Instructor, who was only smiling and ready to have another go and began fighting again in hand to hand combat....
